Youth Service Cambodia

  Make a Difference in Our Communities !

Founded by ten founders on 5th October, 2005 and officially recognized on 9th February, 2006 by Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia as a local non-governmental and nonprofit organization, Youth Service Cambodia focuses its work on Service-Learning and leadership. Its main mission is to mobilize Cambodian young people to do voluntary work to serve communities across Cambodia so as to build better relationship between educational institutions and communities. At the same time, YSC plays a significant role in creating an enabling environment where volunteer students are able to use knowledge and skills they have gained from their schools to add up with local knowledge to make a better world.

In the last few decades after Pol Pot Regime known as Killing Field (1975-1979), social morality has been deteriorating gradually. Consequently, most of Cambodian young people, more or less, have lost their sense of social responsibility,  and solidarity, resulting in remarkable increase in crime rate, misbehavior, various forms of violence, social distrust, and so forth. These problematic aspects of the society cannot be addressed without strong commitment of all Cambodian people to making a difference. 

Our Visions

For communities:

J. Our vision is to build a better community through youth-based service activities.

For youth:

J. Our organization envisions the empowerment, ownership, and role of youth in Cambodia.

 Missions:

J. Our main mission is to engage young people in voluntary service activities in communities in order to build a bridge between educational institutions and communities so that both parties can learn to love and care each other.

J. Our organization provide young people tremendous opportunities to empirically experience community work and develop their character at the same time.

J. Our organization is determined to raise young community leaders who have self-determination and strong commitment to taking ownership and responsibility in taking care of their own communities.

 Goals:
